A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Let me begin by expressing the fullness of my gratitude for all that you have become to me. When I entered Mississippi College, I looked forward to joining Shawreth and becoming one of the bros. Freshman year was formative, and established strong relationships with men that encouraged me and pointed me to the Lord.
The past two years have been an opportunity for me to share my love for Shawreth with the new classes and hopefully make the same encouraging impact that I experienced. Now, here we are at the final chapter of my life as an MC student and the cusp of another era in the Order of Shawreth. I want to move forward with the following attitude:
Ephesians 4:1-7 "I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit- just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call- one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ's gift."
This year can be an opportunity for us to become stronger than we've ever been if we will first submit to the Lord. Let's walk forward with the attitude of Christ and make strides to live like Him. Let's be brothers. Let's encourage each other. Let's pick each other up when we fall. Let's carry each other's crap. Let's be the best we can be.
In service to God, I commit myself to strive for excellence.
-Andrew Wilson, Shawreth President, 2015-2016
DEVOTION. PERSEVERANCE. EXCELLENCE.
